Pioneer in climate protection

Revised EEG (German renewable energies law) provides attractive terms and a high level of planning security

  • The German renewable energies law (EEG) has provided a solid foundation for an expansion in renewable energies
  • Wind  energy conditions calculable over the long term
Worldwide, the Federal Republic of Germany is considered a pioneer in climate protection. In the renewable energies sector, this is above all due to the German Renewable Energies Act (EEG), which has been in force since the year 2000 and is now serving as a model throughout the world. Due to the subsidy provided by the law, around 20% of all electricity produced in German came from renewable sources in 2010. The law was revised with effect from 1 January 2012 and the terms for wind power were once again improved. Since then, the following rules apply to new wind farms:

Onshore

  • Tariff: around 8.93 ct/kWh
  • Degression 1.5% p.a.
  • Bonus for system services: 0.48 ct/kWh
  • Bonus for repowering projects:  0.5 ct/kWh
  • Secured tariff also for feed-in management

Offshore

  • Tariff: 15 ct/kWh
  • Remuneration
if initial tariff is compressed over eight years: 19 Ct/kWh
  •  No degression until end of 2017
  • Connection to grid by transmission system operator
